Heat Treatment
Our Heat Treatment Capabilities
At IIDEA Limited, we offer in-house heat treatment services for small components, either as a "stand alone" service or integrated into the manufacturing process for components. Heat Treatment is undertaken to modify the microstructure and properties of metallic materials, for example increase hardness, improving fatigue or deformation resistance, or softening material for further processing.

We currently offer the following heat treatment processes:

-
Hardening (Water or Oil Quenching)
-
Tempering
-
Normalizing
-
Annealing

Heat Treatment Equipment
Our in-house heat treatment is carried out using a Vecstar TRF3 furnace, featuring has internal dimensions of 300mm x 300mm x 450mm resulting in a 40 litre working volume. This furnace allows us to perform controlled heat treatment at sustained temperatures of up to 1200°C, making it ideal for heat treatment trials, research and production of complex metallic materials.

Additional Heat Treatment Services
For heat treatment processes outside our current in-house capabilities, we maintain strong relationships with trusted local providers. We can coordinate and integrate these services seamlessly into your project timeline, ensuring treatments are carried out at the optimal stage of the manufacturing process under our ISO 9001 compliant process to ensure quality and consistency throughout.

Our heat treatment furnace is programmable to allow heat treatment cycles to be accurately controlled even with the most complex of heat treatment cycles

Small components or batches of components can be heat treated "in house" giving us control over complex cycles and timescales involved.
