Here at IIDEA, our engineering, design, metallurgy and precision machining services are provided in our own facility on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Catcliffe on the border between Sheffield and Rotherham in South Yorkshire, UK. We have invested in people, processes and modern CNC machining centres capable of precision machining a wide range of materials, mainly metallic but on occasions in non-metals to high tolerances, using advanced 3D CAD/CAM design through the latest generation of SolidWorks on our CNC machining centres.
We can supply components & assemblies from start to finish or provide sub-contract machining services in a wide range of processes and materials from our convenient South Yorkshire base just minutes from the Sheffield / Rotherham junction to the M1 and M18 motorways beyond.

In addition to our wide range of CNC machining capabilities, IIDEA have considerable precision sawing & cutting capabilities, laser marking, metallurgical and engineering expertise making us a one stop shop for component cut-ups and mechanical test specimen manufacture.
In addition to our materials and engineering expertise, as former developers and owners of a UKAS Accredited Mechanical and Metallurgical Testing Laboratory, IIDEA also have a wealth of experience in the production of mechanical test pieces in a wide range of materials to many of the routinely tested specimen standards and geometries. We also have significant experience in complex cut-ups of components large and small for the extraction and manufacture of test piece blanks and test pieces and can produce custom or unusual test specimens. We are able to offer management of mechanical test programs from complex sample extraction, test piece manufacture / preparation and expediting of testing programs through a number accredited testing laboratories.
