Following the manufacture and supply of hubs to Sheffield Hallam Universities Student Racing Team for the 2016 season, we have undertaken to supply an increased number of components for the SHU Racing Team car for this seasons race. Last season we supplied functional but heavy wheel hubs made from EN24 steel to the team. In an effort to reduce unsprung weight as well as the overall vehicle weight, this year we will be producing similar wheel hubs in aircraft grade titanium 6Al-4V, a high strength but lower density material.
As well as the hubs, this year we will be supplying the aluminium uprights, a new part for us and one we are really looking forward to manufacturing. As part of the work with SHU Racing, we have also undertaken a sponsorship agreement with the Team and are thrilled to feature as their sponsor of the month on page 7 of the February edition of their newsletter.
