SHU Racing 2025 Race Car Launch at Sheffield Hallam University

Last Saturday, IIDEA’s Quality and Technical Sales Manager (Matthew Sier) attend the launch event for the 2025 entry to the Formula Student Racing competition from the SHU Racing Team.  IIDEA first supplied parts to the Sheffield Hallam University Team in 2016 becoming sponsors the following year, and have continued sponsorship ever since, now taking placement students from the team.

As with previous years, the launch event is the first time the car has been seen by anyone outside the design and build team.  As always, it is fascinating to see how each new team build on the work from previous years and further evolve the design and construction of the car learning and progressing as they go with each annual incremental step.

The car again features some very high-tech engineering applications including extensive use of carbon fibre including in the chassis as well as a full aerodynamic package. IIDEA high-quality suspension parts are on the car helping the team have a reliable suspension system.

We are excited to see the car compete against the rest of the teams at the Formula Student event at Silverstone later this month.  It is always interesting to see how next year’s team build further on what will hopefully again be a very competitive car.

As one of the headline sponsors of the car it was great to see our name prominently displayed on the car.
